CRICKET- Australian batsman David Warner played his last Indian Premier League (IPL) match for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday. He will now join the national team back home to prepare for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup.
Warner who played the IPL after his one year match ban came to end in March has called the tournament a stepping stone for the World Cup. Warner made 692 runs in the entire IPL campaign this season.
Thanking the franchise and his teammates, Warner tweeted, “I can not express my gratitude enough to the @Sunrisers family for your support, not just this season but also for the last year. It’s been a long time waiting but it was great to be back…”
Australia are the defending World Cup champions.
