The Chinese smartphone maker's Android Go-powered smartphone is all set to be launched on March 19, 2019.
Xiaomi is sending out media invites for the 'Go' launch event on March 19 in New Delhi, set to begin at 12 pm IST.
Redmi Go is the first phone from the Chinese smartphone maker to run Google's Android Go software which means the phone will come bundled with all the streamlined apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, among others.
Xiaomi India Chief Manu Kumar Jain has also tweeted out a launch teaser in Hindi, which reveals the smartphone will help millions become smartphone users - clearly pointing towards the entry-level Redmi Go smartphone.
The Redmi Go comes in funky colours like blue, red, black, and others. We believe the global variant of the Redmi Go will head to India which means the phone will have the same specs as the original model.
To recall, the same processor powered the 'Desh ka smartphone' aka the Redmi 5A. The phone comes in one variant with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
The Redmi Go packs a single camera on the front as well as on the back. On the rear panel, the Redmi Go comes with an 8MP camera paired with LED flash for better picture capture in low-light situations.
Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The Redmi Go measures 140.4x70.1x8.32 mm and tips the scales at 137 grams.
The Redmi Go was unveiled in January, and its price was revealed when it went up for pre-orders in the Philippines at PHP 3,990 (roughly Rs. 5,400).
