BOXING- Ace Wrestler Amit Panghal who is the first Indian to play in the summit bout at the World Boxing Men’s Championship says he is not willing to settle for a silver and will go for a gold with all his will.
After his semi-final win on Friday, Panghal had tweeted, “In boxing, it’s about the obsession of getting the most from yourself, wanting to dominate the world like a hungry young lion.”
India has always won bronze medals at the championship. Even a silver will be historic for India but Panghal is not ready to settle for the second best prize.
“I am very happy that for the first time we have won two medals and it is most successful World Championships for India but for me history is still to be made. Tomorrow I will go for the gold,” Panghal told HT after his victory.
Panghal is up against Rio Olympics gold medallist Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan in the title bout on Saturday.
