GOLF- Tiger Woods ended an 11 year major draught on Sunday as he won the Augusta Masters title, his 15th major title and first one since the 2008 US Open.
“It’s special to me, to my friends and family,” Woods said. “And I think everyone who was here got a chance to witness something that was amazing.”
The win becomes more precious as it was the first time Tiger’s kids- daughter Sam Alexis, 11, and son Charlie, 10, - saw their dad win a major title.
“For them to see what it’s like to have their dad win a major championship, I hope that’s something they will never forget,” Woods said. “I hope they are proud of their dad.”
Woods’ career nosedived in 2009 following a sexual assault scandal. Then he underwent a total of seven surgeries in the last 10 years because of knee and back injuries.
