TENNIS- Serbian former world number one Novak Djokovic has been handed a wildcard entry in the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen’s Club to be held in London.
He will join French Open champion Rafael Nadal, Grigor Dimitrov, Marin Cilic and Juan Martin del Potro in the competition for the title win. Though fellow world number one Briton Andy Murray is also on the list, it is not sure if he will participate as he is recovering from a hip injury.
About his participation in the tournament ahead of next month’s Wimbledon, Djokovic said, “I am very excited to be playing the Fever-Tree Championships again. I have happy memories of reaching the final at The Queen’s Club 10 years ago and also winning the doubles title. The atmosphere is always great and I am looking forward to playing in front of the British crowd again.”
Djokovic will be joined by Coach Marian Vajda and fitness coach Gebhard Phil Gritsch at London.
