Sunil Chhetri’s brace guides India to Intercontinental Cup win

FOOTBALL- Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri netted two goals of the Intercontinental Cup final against Kenya on Sunday to win the match 2-0.

He also reached another career milestone as he equalled Argentinian maverick Lionel Messi’s tally of 64 International goals. He and Messi are now only behind Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu also had a tremendous run at the tournament as he did not concede even a single goal throughout the tournament.

India will next be eyeing AFC Asian Cup to be held in UAE next year.
