CRICKET- Bangladesh defeated India by three wickets to clinch their maiden women’s Asia Cup T20 title at the Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Batting first, defending champions India put 112 on scoreboard which Bangladesh reached at the final delivery.
Ayasha Rahaman (17) and Shamima Sultana (16) added 33 before being dismissed by Poonam Yadav who went on to take 4 wickets for 9 runs.
India’s run of six straight Asia Cup titles (four ODIs and two T20s) came to an end with Bangladesh claiming their first ever.
Bangladesh had earlier defeated India in the tournament as well.
