Once again the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has targeted the Punjab Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and demanded the immediate dismissal of Sidhu from the Punjab Cabinet. SAD expounded that after the emergence of new evidence in which he has openly admitted to beating a man to death in 1988, Sidhu need to be sacked.

The SAD has also raised questions against the Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh for not taking any action against Sidhu. SAD took up the matter after the reports came regarding Sidhu’s appearing on 'Aap Ki Adalat' on India TV in 2010. As per the reports, Sidhu had admitted to the involvement of both (him and co-accused Rupinder Singh Sandhu) in the brawl with Gurnam Singh in 1988 in Patiala and admitted and accepting hitting the victim with fist blows resulting in his death.

Now that the much hype has been created, SAD is leaving no stone unturned to add fuel to the fire and is directly questioning Congress party for not taking action against Sidhu despite having adequate evidences against him.
