Panjab University gears up for its first ever National Law fest

Celebrating 129 years of establishment of the Department of Laws, Panjab University Chandigarh, the Law Department is gearing up for its first ever National Law Fest titled ‘Droit Melange’ to be held at the University campus. The two day festival will begin on January 31. The title is well apt as it means the medley of curricular and co-curricular activities and goes well will the theme ‘Lets live Law’.

It shall be noted that the students of law department organised a Road Show on January 29 just to spread the word 2 days before the fest. A professors of law Department Prof. Shalini Marwaha lauded the efforts of students and wished students good luck to make the fest a huge success.

The huge fest will witness the presence of eminent personalities including Punjab Cabinet Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu who is presiding over the fest as Chief Guest. Along with this Former Member of Parliament, Additional Solicitor General of India, and Member, Law Commission of India, Satya Pal Jain has been invited as the Guest of Honour. The two day festival will observe the participation of 22 educational institutions from various parts across India. Panjab University students have joined hands to make the festival a great success and are seen working day and night for the arrangements.

The fest will have plethora of events both for law students and non-law students. Client Counselling, Maxim Bee, Law Quiz will be exclusively for law students and there will be other events including Open Debate, Skit, Slam Poetry, Ethnic Fashion Show and Treasure Hunt, in which both the law and non-law students could participate. The fest will witness the presence of sitting Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Senior Advocates of Punjab and Haryana High Court and other dignitaries from the Academia and respective fields associated with the events.
