BUSINESS- French dairy group Lactalis has recalled powdered baby milk boxes in over a salmonella outbreak, the company’s CEO Emmanuel Besnier said on Sunday.

Salmonella bacteria was discovered in Lactalis factory in December and since then French retailers have been strictly prohibited from selling it.

Recalls have now been issued by the firm three times, and cover its Picot, Milumel and Taranis brands.

"There are complaints and there will be an investigation with which we will fully collaborate," said Mr Besnier.

Countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa have been affected while UK, US and Australia were not.
