CRICKET- International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday gave its approval to a new world class stadium in Perth to host international matches.

“This is by far the most impressive and well laid-out stadium I have ever visited,” ICC match referee Richie Richardson said.

“The comprehensive amenities, along with the quality and functionality of the facility, surpasses the required standard to host any international cricket match.”

The stadium with a 60,000 sitting capacity will host its first one-day international against England on January 28.

Perth's WACA has formally been put out of use after the announcement. WACA staged its 44th and final Test between Australia and England last month.
