Young gymnasts gained all attention with twists and turns at PU Rhythmic Gymnastics competition

Panjab University has always shown a remarkable performance in sports events, it can be seen from the efforts of the little gymnasts. There is no doubt that PU has continued to dominate by winning men’s artistic and women’s rhythmic gymnasts’ title in the All India Inter University Artistic Gymnastics. Now PU seems to prepare the kids from very beginning so that they can excel in sports later in their life. The recently conducted Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at Panjab University was provided the outlook of the university as far as sports are concerned.

Various students from different schools of tricity participated in the event. Along with this, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) extension centre (Day boarding scheme) players and regular trainees of the centre participated. There were different categories; participants were divided according to the different age groups. Talking to NewsNumber, little beautiful gymnast Pratigya, a student of Ankur School, Sector 14 Chandigarh who was awarded 1st prize asserted that she wishes to be like Dipa Karmakar one day and will make the entire country proud. The sportsmanship that was seen in the eyes and efforts of the little Gymnasts was commendable.

The guest of honour was Garima Singh; IRS officer from Haryana. SAI gymnastic coach Madhavi Bharaj supervised students of various Chandigarh schools and also motivated them to continue with their game.
