Millions in US witnessed the solar eclipse on Monday

USA- For the first time in 99 years, a total Solar eclipse swept across the United States on Monday, giving people the opportunity to get armed with their cameras and telescopes to witness the phenomenon.

The moon bloated the midday sun as thousands gathered at different observatories to witness a full blown solar eclipse to sweep the US from coast to coast in nearly a century.

People also took various humorous takes on the blocking of Sun by the moon and twiitter and other social media sites were filled with wittiest reactions to the eclipse.

People gathered in Charleston, South Carolina, will be the last on the continent to experience it.
