Private domestic air carrier SpiceJet is launching Chandigarh-Jammu-Jaipur flights from May 5. Jaipur, the pink city is visited by umpteen numbers of tourists every year. The decision to launch more flights has been taken in view of the summer rush of passengers to these destinations.
According to media reports quoting the company’s senior vice-president (commercial) Shilpa Bhatia, two new flights would be added to their domestic summer schedule. Both flights will operate daily except the first and the third Sunday of every month. The company’s current average daily flights were 340 to 46 destinations, including 39 domestic and 7 international ones.
The decision followed additional summer season flights started by other private carriers Indigo and Jet Airways for both destinations. Also SpiceJet has recently partnered with HSBC India to provide a platform to passengers for making payments through mobile phones. The no-frills airline has launched a Unified Payment Interface (UPI) as a payment option on its website.
