Novak Djokovic suffers defeat in men’s doubles first round at Japan Open

TENNIS- Serbian world number one Novak Djokovic and his partner Filip Krajinovic suffered a first round loss at the Japan Open on Monday.

The duo lost 2-6, 6-4, 4-10 to Bruno Soares of Brazil and Mate Pavic of Croatia.

Top seed Djokovic will make his Japan Open singles debut later this week against Alexei Popyrin, a 20-year-old Australian, at the Ariake Coliseum, which is also a venue for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
