World Wrestling C’ship: Deepak Punia qualifies for Tokyo 2020 Olympics

WRESTLING- Junior World Champion Deepak Punia booked his Tokyo 2020 Olympic berth after winning World Wrestling Championship quarter-final bout on Saturday.

Punia defeated Colombia’s Carlos Mendez 7-6 in the 86kg. He next faces Switzerland’s Stefan Reichmuth in the semi-final bout.

After Vinesh Phogat (53kg), Bajrang Punia (65kg) and Ravi Kumar Dahiya (57), Deepak is the fourth Indian to qualify for Tokyo at the event.
