World Cup qualifier: India shows grit to hold Qatar to goalless draw, Twitter erupts in frenzy

FOOTBALL- Indian football team on Tuesday showed great grit and determination to hold Asian champions Qatar to a goalless draw in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The win not only opened India’s account in the qualifiers but also made them the only Asian side to not lose against Qatar in 2019.

Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu pulled off a number of brilliant saves.

Skipper Sunil Chhetri who missed the game because of high fever was one of the first to congratulate the team.

Indian Super League clubs Chennaiyin FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC, Bengaluru FC and Hero I–League also wished the team on Twitter.
