US Open: Ankita Raina loses in second round of qualifying

TENNIS- India’s number one Ankita Raina lost 7-6(5), 4-6, 2-6 to Czech Republic’s Denisa Allertova in the second round of US Open qualifying on Wednesday night.

The world number 194 lost in a tough three setter in two hours and 17 minutes long match.

In the men’s singles, Sumit Nagal won his first qualifying match to face Peter Polansky of Canada in round two. Ramkumar Ramanathan had bowed out in the first round.
