SYDNEY- Members of public showed their bravery on Tuesday after detaining an armed man accused of stabbing a woman in central Sydney.
The man, identity has not been revealed, stabbed a woman at about 14:00 local time (04:00 GMT) on Tuesday near Clarence St and King St. He also tried to carry out further stabbings and there were multiple crime scenes.
Videos of him shouting “Allahu Akbar” and “shoot me” have been doing rounds on internet. The man was eventually tackled by the people and pinned to the ground.
While the suspect has been taken into custody, the victim is out of danger and is in stable condition.
Body of another woman was also found inside an apartment building on the same street but it is not clear whether it is related to the stabbing or not.
