Ivorian DJ and singer Arafat Muana, known as DJ Arafat, has died following a road accident. He was 33 years old.
Arafat’s motorcycle collided with a car on Sunday. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Abidjan with a fractured skull where he died early on Monday.
Known as the king of coupe decale dance music, Arafat’s hit song Dosabado has more than five million views on YouTube.
Ivory Coast Culture Minister Maurice Kouakou Bandaman condoled Arafat’s death and said a tribute would be organized to honour the musician.
Fellow artists including Nigerian star Davido and fellow Ivorian rapper Kaaris have also paid their tributes.
