TENNIS- Briton former world number one Andy Murray has ruled himself out of the US Open singles after his Cincinnati Open campaign ended in a first round loss.
Murray lost 6-4 6-4 to France's Richard Gasquet in Cincinnati in his first singles match since career saving hip surgery in January.
"I didn't feel I was able to make that decision before today's match," said Murray, 32.
Murray said he might play singles at the Winston-Salem Open next week. He though intends to play doubles and mixed doubles at the US Open which starts on August 26.
