CRICKET- Sri Lankan sports minister Harin Fernando has ordered the sacking of national cricket coach Chandika Hathurusingha and his assistants after a poor campaign at the World Cup.

Sri Lanka won just three games out of the total nine league matches at the World Cup.

A Sri Lanka Cricket official informed that the coaches will be fired after the conclusion of the upcoming one day series against Bangladesh.

Hathurusingha was appointed as head coach in 2017 after a successful three year stint with Bangladesh. After coming home from the disastrous world cup campaign, he expressed his wish to complete his current contract which remains in force for another 16 months.
