CRICKET- After a disastrous World Cup campaign, Afghanistan has named its star bowler Rashid Khan as Captain of the men’s cricket team across all formats.

Asghar Afghan, who was the skipper earlier, will now be the vice-captain. Before the World Cup, Rashid was only the T20 captain.

Afghanistan finished at the bottom of the 10 team table at the World Cup. Though they did twice come close to register upsetting wins over India and Pakistan but could not manage a single win in the end.

Chief selector Dawlat Khan Ahmadzai and CEO Asadullah Khan have been sacked following the team’s winless campaign in the UK.
