TENNIS- American 23 time grand slam winner Serena Williams reached the final of Wimbledon on Thursday with a straight set 6-1, 6-2 win over Barbora Strycova.
Serena, 37, will become the oldest player to compete in the final at the Open Era.
The tennis star said Tiger Woods’s remarkable Masters win this year at the age of 43 served as an inspiration for her.
She also credited technology for helping her in prolonging her career.
"I feel like if we had this technology 20 years ago, maybe Michael Jordan would still be playing basketball. Things I do different now than when I first was on tour, it's lengthening my career."
If Serena beats Romanian Simona Halep in the final on Saturday, she will equal Margaret Court's Grand Slam singles haul of 24.
