PYONGYANG- North Korea has vowed to respond to South Korea’s purchase of American F-35 fighter jets calling it an extremely dangerous action which will trigger reactions.

In a statement released by state news agency, an unnamed policy research director at the Institute for American Studies of North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said about the purchase, “There is no room for doubt that the delivery of ‘F-35A’, which is also called an ‘invisible lethal weapon’, is aimed at securing military supremacy over the neighbouring countries in the region and especially opening a ‘gate’ to invading the north in time of emergency on the Korean peninsula.”

He further said North Korea will retaliate by developing special armaments capable of completely destroying the fighter jets.

Seoul took first delivery of F-35 jet in March this year and the last one of the 40 jets ordered will be delivered by 2021.
