FOOTBALL - Former Indian goalkeeper AU Celestine has died at the age of 73. He passed away at a Chennai hospital on Monday night after a brief illness.
Celestine had represented India in the Merdeka Cup in Malaysia in 1969. He represented Tamil Nadu in national games and later took up coaching and trained the Tamil Nadu state teams (junior, sub-junior and women).
He also acted as a talent spotter for the All India Football Federation.
Celestine is survived by his wife and son.
