Chandigarh: MM Singh Cheema, Permanent Invitee (PPCC) Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, appreciated the move of Sh. Rahul Gandhi President AICC of resigning from his post after the defeat in recently held Lok Sabha Elections but also termed it very heart-breaking for all the congressmen.

Mr Cheema in a press statement today said while every congressman respects his sentiments but the party has to respect the aspirations and faith of more than 12 crore voters too who came openly in favour of Congress party and against the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA is very significant. He appreciated the idea of Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister Punjab that next Congress Party President should be a young person with Pan India following which will be a great ray of hope for where 135 crore population constitute more than 69% youth which is almost 2/3rd of total voters.

Mr Cheema further stated that youthful leadership created wonders even under the leadership of former Prime Minister, Sh. Rajiv Gandhi with the active support of the seasoned and time tested Congressmen in the Government and in the party so now history is going to repeat that moment. He appealed to UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi that keeping these voters in mind, New State PCC Presidents should also be youth supported by seasoned congressmen. This is need of the hour to have persons who could be having a wider horizon in national and international level with the prospective of emerging India having women empowerment and youth involvement as the primary target.

He said young leadership will find a way out, as Growth of Country has slowed down in the last 5 years with all mechanism developed by motivated few for their vested interest really harmed the nation's progress.

Many significant Sections of society which have been left out by NDA particularly, Farming Community which is in great distress, Minorities feeling suffocated, working-class feeling burdened with unprecedented fear of inflation and peace of mind, organized and unorganized labour feeling left out from the countries agenda and fringe element and divisive forces are on the rise under the slogan of Mr Modi. “Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas” these neglected sections need to be taken on board for inclusive growth of the country which was the dream of varying the time of from Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi.
