The so-called idiosyncratic leader, Subramanian Swamy who serves as a nominated Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament is someone who has also been in news for his outspoken demeanour. Swamy indeed is known for playing game according to his own rules, his own court and his own ball and his own goalpost.

Once again Swamy has stolen the limelight by giving a controversial statement against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In the latest development, the Chhattisgarh Police has lodged an FIR against BJP MP Subramanian Swamy after he allegedly made a controversial statement against Rahul Gandhi.

In a tweet, Swamy has said that RG has said to media that 70 % of Punjab residents will fail the Dope test. Now Buddhu by the same reckoning will also fail the Dope test? Following this, there has been a rage among the Congress leaders. The FIR has been lodged against Swamy and the case has been registered against him under Sections 504, 505(2) and 511 of IPC.

It shall be noted that this is not the first time that Swamy has made such a controversial statement. He is known for being utterly outspoken. There is no doubt that Swamy has been a relentless warrior against corruption. He has nailed many high-profile politicians, put them behind bars and exposed several scams.

However, he has also received a lot of ire for his blatant remarks on the opposition leaders. In the past, he has been seen closely rallying against the Congress leader P Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis corruption case. He was seen accusing the former RBI Governor, Raghuram Rajan. Swamy has even written a letter to PM Modi calling Rajan to be either fired or dismissed at the end of his term.
