Indian team’s fitness trainer Basu to quit after World Cup

CRICKET- Indian cricket team’s fitness trainer Shankar Basu and physiotherapist Patrick Farhart will step down after the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup.

As per a report by Indian Express, both have conveyed their decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“Basu has informed the team management of not continuing as a trainer as he needs a break. So has Patrick. The Indian team will look out for their replacements after the World Cup and West Indies series,” a board official was quoted as saying by the paper.

As of now, Sohum Desai will replace Basu for the upcoming West Indies tour.
