CRICKET- Former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has accused New Zealand and England of match fixing so as to prevent Pakistan from entering the semi-finals of ICC World Cup.

England beat New Zealand on Wednesday to ensure their place in the semi-finals. The Kiwis are now at fourth spot, two points ahead of Pakistan.

Speaking at a Pakistani talk show, Game on Hai, Latif said, “England bowled Joe Root and Adil Rashid for 4 or 5 overs after New Zealand lost 4 wickets, in order to reduce the margin of victory. England intentionally batted slow and avoided scoring 370-odd, so that the margin of victory wouldn’t be big enough.”

Pakistan will face Bangladesh in their final group stage game of Friday. Australia and India have already qualified for the knock out stage and only one place is now up for grabs.
