UKRAINE- Craig Mazin, creator of HBO show Chernobyl, has issued a warning to the tourists visiting the nuclear disaster site in Ukraine to be respectful and remember that a terrible tragedy occurred there.
World’s worst nuclear accident occurred at Chernobyl nuclear plant in Ukraine’s Pripyat in 1986. The number of people who died as a result of exposure to radiation is disputed.
"Comport yourselves with respect for all who suffered and sacrificed," Mazin wrote on Twitter.
After the disaster, the city was abandoned. The exclusion zone spreads from Ukraine and into Belarus and covers an area more than twice the size of London.
Since the release of the documentary, tourist footfall to the zone has increased.
