CRICKET- India defeated Australia by 36 runs to win their second ICC ODI Men’s World Cup match on Sunday. Batting first, India put a score of 352 on board. The Aussies failed to chase the target and could only manage 316 in 50 overs.
One moment from the match is particularly doing the rounds on social media.
Australian batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner have made comeback to international cricket following a year’s ban for their involvement in the ball tampering scandal in South Africa.
The duo are one of the best batsmen of their generation but are facing continuous booing attacks by the crowd in England.
In yesterday’s match too, the Indian crowd started booing Smith when the Australian team dismissed Hardik Pandya. A visibly irritated Kohli then asked the fans to stop booing Smith and instead clap for him.
Kohli later revealed that he personally went up to Smith and apologized for the behaviour of the crowd. Well no need to say that Kohli’s personal entreaty to crowd will prevent any such incidents in future.
