Denzel Washington honoured with AFI Life Achievement Award

HOLLYWOOD- Veteran actor Denzel Washington on Thursday night was honoured with the AFI Life Achievement Award.

Major Hollywood celebrities including Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, Michael B. Jordan, Mahershala Ali, Cicely Tyson, Chadwick Boseman, Jodie Foster and Morgan Freeman turned up to celebrate Washington’s win.

Two-time Academy Award-winner Washington was seated with his wife Pauletta Washington and son Malcolm Washington.

In his thank you speech, Washington paid a standing ovation to his wife of 40 years and said he would not have been alive if not for her.

Washington also used the moment on stage to thank God and those who have helped him along the way.
