Australian Open: Sindhu, Sai Praneeth make seconds round exits

BADMINTON- Indian ace PV Sindhu’s quest for her first season title was prolonged once again after she lost the second round Australian open match 19-21 18-21 to Nitchaon Jindapol.

Before her, sixth-seeded compatriots Sameer Verma, B Sai Praneeth and the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty all bowed out of the tournament.

Sameer went down 16-21 21-7 13-21 to former top 10 player Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei, while Praneeth lost to Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in a 42-minute clash.

Satwiksairaj and Chirag lost 19-21 18-21 in a close contest to second seeds Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen.
