Divij Sharan and partner Aoyama crash out of French Open

TENNIS- Indian challenge in the mixed doubles event at the French Open ended today with the ouster of Indian-Japanese pair of Divij Sharan and Shuko Aoyama.

The pair lost 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 to Lyudmyla Kichenok of Ukraine and Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rohan Bopanna and Czech Republic’s Lucie Hradecka suffered straight-sets defeat to top seeds Nicole Melichar of US and Brazil’s Bruno Soares.

Both Sharan and Bopanna are still in race for the men’s doubles as they compete in their respective second round matches on Friday.
