STOCKHOLM- Fast food outlet McDonald’s has opened a miniature pint sized McHive in Sweden to cater exclusivley to bees.

Advertising and marketing firm Nord DBB created the McHive whose interior is made of a box where the tiny critters can live. It has a modern décor and iconic golden arches.

The installation of McHive is part of a country-wide initiative to raise awareness about the world’s dwindling bee population, a report in inhabitat.com said.

Now more franchises around Sweden are setting up fully-functional beehives, known as McHives, on their rooftops.
