Croatian Igor Stimac appointed new Indian men’s team coach

FOOTBALL- Croatian legend Igor Stimac has been appointed new coach of Indian men’s national team on a two-year contract.

Stimac will take over from Stephen Constantine who coached the team for four years and under whom India made considerable progress in the international rankings.

He was the national coach of the Croatian team and helped it qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and has 18 years of experience as coach, scout and manager.

Stimac’s first assignment will be the Kings Cup in Buriram, Thailand where India play Curacao in their first match on June 5.
