TENNIS- American 26 year old Nicole Gibbs will not play at French Open this year as she has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Gibbs will undergo a surgery to treat salivary gland cancer on Friday.

Sharing the news with her fans, Gibbs tweeted that her dentist discovered a growth on the roof her mouth about a month ago, and her surgeon is “confident that surgery alone will be sufficient treatment”.

Gibbs has not lost heart and says she will try to qualify for the Wimbledon in June. She reached a career high ranking of 68 in 2016.
