After Madrid Open win, Djokovic consolidates top spot in men’s rankings

TENNIS- A day after winning his third Madrid Open title, Serbian Novak Djokovic has also consolidated the top spot in men’s rankings released today.

Novak has widened his lead over Spaniard Rafael Nadal who was ousted in the semi-final by young Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas who lost to Djokovic in the final climbed two places to be at seventh spot in the rankings.

Swiss Roger Federer is at third spot, Dominic Thiem of Austria moved to fourth position, Germany’s Alexander Zverev completes the top five.
