FUJAIRAH- Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Khalid al-Falih has said that two Saudi oil tankers were sabotaged off the coast of United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

The incident took place at about 06:00 (02:00 GMT) near Fujairah port, in the Gulf just outside the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE foreign ministry claim that four commercial ships were targeted but no casualties or spillages of chemicals were reported.

An investigation has been opened into the incident. Neither Saudi Arabia nor UAE accused any groups or countries for the attack but did point out that the sabotage was carried out to undermine the freedom of maritime navigation.
