CRICKET- Former South Africa star Jonty Rhodes believes the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup field is wide open and there are no clear favourites.

Talking about the Indian side to be led by Virat Kohli for the World Cup, Rhodes said the 15 member squad is a balanced one but that does not mean others lack balance.

The World Cup will be played in Round Robin format where all the 10 teams will play against each other and the top four will qualify for the semi-finals.

“India might have the fab 15 but there are probably six other teams that might call themselves the same. There are some very strong teams in the World Cup and it will depend on the balanced 11 that they chose on the day, depending on the conditions,” Rhodes said.

India open their campaign against South Africa on June 5 at Southampton.
