TENNIS- Serbian Novak Djokovic on Sunday won his third Madrid Open title and over-all 33rd Masters title.

Djokoiv defeated 20-year-old Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to claim the title. Stefanos was clearly exhausted as he had a stunning five set semi-final with Spaniard Rafael Nadal just around midnight of the same day.

“This is a very important win for me, especially for my confidence,” 15-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic said.

“I was not playing my best after winning the Australia Open but I started this week well, not dropping a set all through. I’ve played some of my best tennis here.”

With the win, Novak has joined Nadal as a 33-time Masters champion. Both of them will now aim to win their 34th title in Rome this week.
