TENNIS- Swiss 20 time grand slam champion Roger Federer has confirmed that he will play at Rome Masters in order to prepare for the French Open. Federer has not played at Roland Garros for the last four years.
In a video posted on social media, Federer said, “Hello everybody. Just finished speaking to the team and happy to say I’m coming back to Rome to play in Italy.”
Federer will open his campaign against either Frances Tiafoe or Joao Sousa.
Earlier, Federer’s participation was not confirmed as he lost to Dominic Thiem in Madrid Open, his first outing on clay in three years.
