The conflict over the allotment of Ferozepur ticket to former SAD MP Sher Singh Ghubaya who has recently joined Congress party in the presence of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is out in open now. With many Punjab Congress leaders refuting the candidature of Ghubaya, it seems like the infighting within Congress may prove detrimental to the party in the elections as Ferozepur is a crucial seat.

In the latest development, it has been seen that Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, a known Amarinder Singh loyalist, has also refuted the allotment of Ferozepur ticket to Ghubaya. Not only this, many Punjab Congress leaders have been seen lashing out at Ghubaya since the day he has joined Congress party. Meanwhile, Senior Congress leaders have also called a meeting to discuss their future course of action.

In the last few days, senior leaders including Dr Rinwa, Hans Raj Josan and Sidana, all aspirants for Ferozepur ticket, met Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, opposing the ticket to Ghubaya. Not only Ghubaya, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, a close aide of Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been on radar of Punjab leaders who are refuting his candidature.
