Putting all the speculations to rest, the Congress and Aam-Aadmi Party’s alliance has come to an end. Now, both Congress and AAP have decided to go alone in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Also, the Congress party has declared six of the seven candidates for Delhi constituency.

As per the reports, Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit will contest on the Congress ticket from northeast Delhi and former Delhi Congress chief Ajay Makan will be a candidate from New Delhi. Another ex-Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Lovely will fight from East Delhi and former state minister Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi. Former MP JP Agarwal will contest from Chandni Chowk.

While the Congress party in Delhi has continuously been refuting the alliance in Delhi and Haryana, AAP was seen coaxing Congress president Rahul Gandhi in order to end BJP in Delhi.

A key factor for this has been Congress' unwillingness to accept AAP's demand of seat sharing beyond Delhi in the neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab.
