India thrash Canada 7-3 to enter Sultan Azlan Shah Cup final

HOCKEY- India outplayed Canada 7-3 to enter the final of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Ipoh on Wednesday.

Striker Mandeep Singh netted a hat trick (20th, 27th and 29th minutes) in the second quarter, Varun Kumar (12th), Amit Rohidas (39th), Vivek Prasad (55th) and Nilakanta Sharma (58th) starred in India’s win.

Mark Pearson (35th), Fin Boothroyd (50th) and James Wallace (57th) scored for Canada.

India still has to play one game of the round-robin league stage but their place in the final is assured with three wins and a draw. India play their final league match against Poland on Friday.
