FOOTBALL- Argentina and Colombia will co-host the 2020 Copa America after the United States bid was rejected by South America’s ruling body CONMEBOL.

At a meeting in Miami on Wednesday, CONMEBOL said it had accepted “the nomination of Argentina and Colombia as joint venues for the 2020 edition of the Copa America.”

This is the first time in the modern Copa America era that the tournament will be split between two countries.

The 2020 Copa America will take place one year after this year’s tournament, which is to be staged in Brazil between June 14 and July 7.
