FOOTBALL- German club Borussia Dortmund’s skipper Marco Reus has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur due to a thigh injury.

Reus injured his thigh during Borussia’s German Cup defeat by Werder Bremen last week.

“We would, of course, have liked to have him in London, because his presence is a bit intimidating for the opponent,” Dortmund official Sebastian Kehl told reporters. “But we’ll compensate for his absence.”

Young English winger Jadon Sancho is expected to replace Reus. It is not clear whether Reus will be fit for the return leg on March 5.
