FOOTBALL- Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has informed that the club’s planned trip to Tenerife has been cancelled in the wake of Emiliano Sala tragedy.

Sala was on board a plane that went missing over the English Channel last month. Weeks later his body was recovered from the plane wreckage. Pilot David Ibbotson is yet to be found.

Cardiff City was scheduled to visit Tenerife for a mid-season break but the trip has been cancelled to give fellow players time to mourn Sala.

Warnock said, “The club gave me permission to fly out to Tenerife, to take them all for four days but after what’s happened over the past two weeks, I’d rather cuddle my kids and see my missus because it’s been a long two weeks.

“I’ve never known anything like this in my life and I’ve seen most things. They’ll all be reflecting on what’s happened and your family is more important than football isn’t it?”

Tragically, Sala was on his way to join Cardiff City after being signed from Nantes when the plane disappeared.
