CRICKET- India’s stand in skipper Rohit Sharma on Friday became the highest run scorer in T20 International format by hitting a superb 50 run knock in the second T20 against New Zealand at Auckland.
With 2288, Rohit is on the top with New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik being at second and third spot respectively with 2272 and 2263 runs.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is at 4th spot with 2167 runs and Brendon McCullum is 27 runs behind to make the top five.
Also, Rohit is the only Indian to smash 100 sixes in T20Is. West Indies star Chris Gayle and Guptill are the only other two to have reached the milestone.
India won the second T20 against the Kiwis by seven wicket and are levelled 1-1 in the three match series. The final match is to be played at Hamilton on Sunday.
